As a Medical Information Specialist at AstraZeneca, you’ll provide a high‑quality, comprehensive technical, scientific, and medical information service for both external and internal customers. Your expertise will support and enhance the safe and effective use of our products, empowering customers to make informed decisions about the AstraZeneca product range. Accountabilities
In this dynamic and highly collaborative role, you’ll deliver a comprehensive second‑line technical and scientific information service to external customers, ensuring alignment with company and industry standards. You’ll prepare and maintain standard response documents for assigned AZ products, proactively identifying gaps in the current library. Your creativity will shine as you create and maintain online medical content for AZUK’s HCP and Patient Medical Information websites, while also supporting awareness campaigns. Building strong relationships with UK cross‑functional teams and the Global Medical Information team will be key to your success. You’ll maintain a deep understanding of therapy areas, competitor landscapes, and AZ strategies for aligned brands. Your role will also involve managing AZUK’s Named Patient Supply, supporting product launches and discontinuations, and developing medical information insights for aligned brand and medical teams. You’ll collaborate with medical field team members, identify areas for improvement in product knowledge and ways of working, and support field medical teams where needed. Compliance is crucial, as you’ll work to all relevant procedural documents, legislation, and codes while supporting quality oversight and management of the AstraZeneca’s first line medical information vendor. You’ll be prepared to take part in audits and inspections.
Essential Skills/Experience
- Life science degree or appropriate professional qualifications
- Experience of Medical Information
- Experience of the pharmaceutical or healthcare industry
- Experience of external customer interactions
- Ability to effectively influence and interact with cross‑functional colleagues
- Understanding of basic pharmacovigilance concepts and requirements
Desirable Skills/Experience
- Post‑graduate qualification in medical/scientific discipline
