In this role, you will provide strong matrix leadership to the Therapy Area Medical Team, contributing to a team environment that supports innovation, coaching and mentoring the TA medical team to drive excellence in skill and performance.
You will develop and maintain scientific relationships with key customers, leverage medical insight from internal and external customers into local evidence generation plans to support value propositions for the UK; provide the medical direction for all brand related activities, and provide expert medical input into key Market Access activities.
You will also support AZ OBU to ensure that all activities conducted are within the appropriate regulatory and compliance frameworks.
Essential Skills/Experience- Proven track record of leadership across medical affairs, specifically demonstrable strategic thinking, communication and engagement and leadership and collaboration skills
- Prior launch experience in a Medical Affairs role
- Experience in oncology medicines
- Extensive patient and customer insight through experience working with the NHS (or a similar national health care system)
- Proven ability to interact with external customers
- Degree or equivalent experience in a related scientific field
- Demonstrated ability to form strong cross‑functional partnerships
- Registered Physician (preferably GMC) or Pharmacist (General Pharmaceutical Council)
- Member/Fellow of a Royal College or the Royal Pharmaceutical Society
- Higher Degree in Oncology (e.g. PhD and MSc Oncology)
- Extensive experience in oncology – solid tumours, and especially lung cancers
- Hold or successfully acquire Nominated Signatory status
- Proven expertise in the ABPI Code of Practice
