Your New Role

The S/4 Operations Finance Data Lead is responsible for assessing the “real life” application of Operations Finance (specifically in the Product Costing and Inventory space) business data design. Key to this will be understanding the holistic data concept proposals incorporated in the design process, assisting definition and documentation of the S/4 Enterprise Data Standards and ensuring business alignment that existing SAP ECC data is fit for purpose at the point of migration to S/4 HANA.

Additionally, the role will seek to understand granular data requirements at an operational level and lead the identification of potential enhancements in more detailed data design. This role is part of the Global functional deployment team covering Operations finance. It supports the relationship between the S/4 Data & Analytics organisation, the EPO organisation, and broader business team to ensure that the S/4 data design meets business requirements, aligns to SAP standard where possible and that S/4 data can be used with confidence achieving a Quality Core.

Enable the deployment of S/4HANA target state business data standards by providing data subject matter expertise into the global process design cycle, ensuring that process designs align with S/4HANA data best practice concepts, process data requirements are collected and consolidated into robust data documentations, all whilst being operationally viable.

Clearly articulate the holistic data design and how business activities can be performed through the application of that data design, eg how PET area reporting will be achieved, ESM PPV and yield analysis, etc.

Apply data, process and object expertise to support relevant Operations Finance related S/4 process design, acting as an integral part of the global functional deployment teams, considering both business process and analytics requirements.

Collect and share relevant as-is Operations Finance data structures and harmonisation assessments alongside best practice to-be Data Design proposals and feed into the Global Design process where useful.

Lead defining the change journey from current to future state data design including completion of change impact assessments and outline of critical use case examples.

Ensure data within Product Costing & Inventory Data Domains are fit for purpose whilst complying with the S/4 HANA Data Governance Framework and AZ Global Data Standards.

Lead /direct the prioritisation of data delivery as related to Product Costing and Inventory, reporting on progress to EPO areas, business as usual teams and senior stakeholders as appropriate.

Support relationship with current business data capability to ensure that S/4 design and the wider enterprise data design remain aligned (including supporting interim state).

Support the S/4 Cleanse and Migrate strategy and execution approaches and plans.

Support and contribute to the cleanse and enrichment approach for data within Operations Finance in accordance with the overall data cleanse strategy.

Essential Skills

  • Significant experience within Operations finance subject matter, with a focus on data (Master Data, Data dimensions/ attributes)
  • Specific experience of Product Costing, Inventory valuation and the use of Material Ledger (involving Inventory valuation) with related integration with the other associated S4 processes.
  • Demonstrated background in financial programme deployment activity.
  • Demonstrable knowledge of how business data requirements support process execution and analytics, with the ability to explain complex data concepts to business users – and the implementation of best business practices.
  • Demonstrable SAP working knowledge across transactions and reporting in an SAP environment, including an understanding of how data integrates within an SAP architecture.
  • Demonstrated ability to work independently and in a diverse, global team, within and across functions. Experience with global working and across cultures.
  • Demonstrate strong communication skills with the ability to influence others to achieve objectives.
  • Ability to support negotiations across a complex group, to a target outcome.
  • Ability to effectively prioritise to ensure goals and outcomes are achieved.
