The Macclesfield Campus is an essential part of AstraZeneca’s UK Operation and the 2nd largest operational site within the company’s global network. It is approx. 100 acres with around 4500 people on site. The site is unique in the AstraZeneca network having Operations, R&D, G&A, IT and others on its site.
Roles
- We are offering 2 Supply Chain Leadership Apprenticeships at UK Operations:
- One position within our Clinical Supply Chain organisation, supporting AstraZeneca across all key therapeutic areas and supporting projects in all phases of the drug development lifecycle and manufacturing. You will work in a team responsible for creating and supplying clinical trials using Clinical Supply Chain business processes, systems, metrics and technology to meet the needs of the business, the patients and the AstraZeneca Clinical portfolio.
- One position within our Commercial Supply Chain function, getting involved in a broad number of roles that support our manufacturing processes here at Macclesfield. These roles will include Artwork Management, Materials Planning, Warehousing, Distribution and Supply Chain Planning. These roles will directly relate to your studies giving you a large breadth of experience of manufacturing support roles.
Training and Development
AstraZeneca will sponsor you through your Supply Chain Leadership degree at Aston University. The apprenticeship combines working, earning a full-time salary, with fully funded part-time university learning (on average 1 day/week). This will give you the opportunity to gain a Supply Chain Leadership degree qualification with Aston University, just as you would if you went to university full-time, with the advantage of gaining relevant work-life skills and the excitement of helping to develop new medicines whilst taking your first steps towards a rewarding career. Entry Requirements
5 GCSEs Grades 9-4 including 4 or above in Mathematics and English. To have achieved or predicted to achieve a minimum of 3 A levels at Grade C C, or equivalent BTECs.
Benefits, Open and Close Dates
This is a 4-12 month fixed term contract opportunity based at Macclesfield with a starting base salary of £24,570 + 11% benefits fund + bonus. Relocation package available for candidates who live more than 60 minutes from the site location for this Apprenticeship. Opening date of advert: 12th January 2026. Closing date of advert: 15th February 2026. Successful candidates will be asked to attend a virtual Assessment day during week commencing 16th March 2026. Start date for the apprenticeship programme is 7th September 2026.
