Total Productive Maintenance (TPM) is integral to our AstraZeneca Supply System, fostering equipment reliability and people capability to deliver medicines swiftly and affordably.

We are excited to offer an opportunity for a TPM Lead to join our team. Reporting to the Engineering Director, you will be accountable for driving the site-wide TPM programme, including its strategy, budget and execution. You will provide TPM expertise and influence colleagues across the site to improve asset performance. This is a visible role in site transformation, working across Engineering, Operations, Lean and site leadership. Success will depend on building strong relationships, aligning priorities and influencing leaders, technicians and operators to adopt effective TPM practices.

You will lead structured TPM deployment across multiple assets, coaching teams to embed it into daily operations. Using problem solving, performance data and meaningful KPIs, you will help teams identify losses, prioritise opportunities and improve reliability and performance. You will keep the programme aligned with business priorities, using digital tools and data-led insight to strengthen visibility, decision-making and deployment. Accountabilities:

  • Ensure TPM is central to site strategy and the programme reflects identified improvement priorities
  • Collaborate with the Leadership Teams to shape outcome-focused roll-out plans.
  • Coordinate TPM activity across site teams and improve processes to support consistent implementation.
  • Align site TPM implementation plans with regional and global Lean strategies, AZ Supply System Maturity Review, and site scorecard targets.
  • Build relationships with frontline operational and engineering staff and coaching teams to sustain TPM standards
  • Collaborate with Regional and Functional TPM Leaders, participating in cross-site networks as Local Process Champion for TPM.
  • Develop and coordinate practical TPM learning through a 'learning by doing' approach
  • Define TPM implementation processes from start to finish; establish process goals and targets; monitor process performance.

Essential Skills/Experience:

  • Strong interpersonal and change leadership skills, with a proven ability to build engagement, establish credibility and influence stakeholders at all levels.
  • Able to coach and challenge leaders, technicians and operators, adapt communication to different audiences and bring cross-functional teams together around shared priorities.
  • Relevant qualification in an Engineering or related technical/business field
  • Experience of leading / implementing Total Productive Maintenance within a Manufacturing Environment
  • Project management and improvement expertise
  • A track record of understanding and application of change management principles
  • Broad understanding of production and maintenance engineering processes

Desirable Skills/Experience:

  • Six Sigma (or Lean Six Sigma) Black Belt certification and/or certification from an accredited external Quality program
  • Understanding of Good Automated Manufacturing Practice, current Good Manufacturing Practice and regulations as defined by local regulatory bodies
