The Axial Programme (Global S/4HANA implementation) is a purpose-led global organisation focused on pushing the boundaries of science to develop life-changing medicines. The ambition and complexity of the organisation have led to the approval of a large-scale transformation of the IT landscape by replacing current ERP systems with one global solution powered by S/4HANA. This programme aims to standardise processes, enhance financial management, and transform the way we work across the entire supply chain.

Introduction to Role: The Head of Training leads the global strategy and execution of end-user, process, and internal program training for a multi-year S/4HANA transformation. This role ensures employees are equipped to perform in S/4HANA-enabled ways of working across all program phases. Responsibilities include owning the training operating model, curriculum design, content development, delivery, and driving measurable proficiency and engagement.

Accountabilities:

  • Training Strategy and Roadmap: Define the global training vision, principles, and phased roadmap aligned to program waves and business value.
  • Curriculum Design and Methods: Architect a role-based curriculum spanning SAP process domains and program ways of working.
  • Training Needs Analysis (TNA): Lead the end-to-end TNA, defining role families, capability requirements, and proficiency targets.
  • Content Development and Quality: Govern the creation of high-quality, standardized training assets.
  • WalkMe and In-App Guidance: Own the global rollout of WalkMe to provide in-app guidance and measure impact.
  • AI-Enabled Learning: Leverage AI to accelerate content creation and personalize learning paths.
  • Delivery Model and Methods: Operate a scalable delivery model using various training methods.
  • Internal Program Training: Design and deliver training for program methodologies for cross-functional teams.
  • Critical Metrics, Measurement, and Insights: Define and operationalise training KPIs/OKRs.
  • Localisation and Market Enablement: Partner with regional change leads to localise materials as necessary.
  • Continuous Improvement and Sustainment: Embed feedback loops to iterate content and delivery.
  • Stakeholder Engagement and Governance: Align with various teams and report progress, risks, and benefits.
  • Vendor and Team Leadership: Build and lead a high-performing training team.
  • Planning and Reporting: Develop a structured approach and drive delivery through clear planning.
  • Internal Engagement: Work with internal L&D teams to support delivery of training materials.

Essential Skills & Experience:

  • Demonstrated success in designing and delivering role-based training.
  • Hands-on familiarity with SAP process domains.
  • Experience in scaling digital adoption platforms.
  • Experience applying AI/ML in learning.
  • Proficiency in establishing KPIs/OKRs for training impact.
  • Leadership of distributed training/change networks.
  • Bachelor’s degree, advanced degree or MBA preferred.

Desirable Skills & Experience:

  • Extensive ERP transformation experience leading global training for S/4HANA or large SAP programs.
