Introduction to role:
Are you ready to architect enterprise-grade Tax and Treasury data models in SAP S/4HANA that power real-time decisions and ensure compliance at global scale? This role shapes the data foundations that enable precise tax reporting, resilient treasury operations and confident financial stewardship, ultimately helping us move life-changing medicines from bench to patient with pace and control. You will lead the design and governance of Tax and Treasury data standards for our new ERP landscape, partnering closely with Finance, Tax, Treasury, IT, enterprise process teams and external consultants. Reporting to the R2R Data Design Lead, Tax and Treasury, you will translate complex requirements into coherent, scalable S/4HANA data models that align with SAP standards and downstream analytics. Could you see yourself guiding workshops that bring diverse stakeholders together to create clear, reusable designs that stand up to rigorous migration and ongoing operations?
Accountabilities:
- Enterprise Data Standards: Define, design, document and implement enterprise data standards for Tax and Treasury covering master, reference, transactional and metadata elements, ensuring clarity, consistency and long-term maintainability.
- End-to-End Data Model Ownership: Own the Tax and Treasury data model across SAP S/4HANA and integrated applications, ensuring alignment to business processes and downstream reporting needs from inception through deployment.
- Data Requirements and Quality: Establish detailed data requirements, mappings, standards, quality rules, ownership and migration specifications for key Tax and Treasury processes and objects, driving data that is complete, accurate and migration-ready.
- Tax Solution Landscape Integration: Lead data design for key tax domains and integrations, including:
- Indirect Tax: Integrations between SAP S/4HANA, Thomson Reuters ONESOURCE and SAP Document and Reporting Compliance (DRC).
- Direct Tax: Data requirements for provisioning, reporting and compliance, including integration of SAP S/4HANA with enterprise tax solutions such as Longview.
- Withholding Tax (WHT): S/4HANA WHT configuration and associated master, reference and transactional data.
- Transfer Pricing: Data design and integration supporting SAP Profitability and Performance Management (PaPM).
- Environmental Taxes: Data requirements enabling environmental tax processes and SAP Analytics Cloud (SAC) analytics.
- Treasury Data Design: Define and govern Bank Master Data ownership, quality and migration; establish robust exchange-rate governance including sources, types, effective dates, interfaces and controls.
- Enterprise Object Dependencies: Ensure Tax and Treasury requirements are embedded within dependent enterprise objects, including Business Partner, Customer, Supplier/Vendor, Material, General Ledger and related Finance objects.
- Global Workshops and Localization: Lead data-design workshops with global and market-level stakeholders to capture requirements, localizations and integration dependencies, turning them into standardized, reusable designs.
- Migration and Cutover Readiness: Support data migration planning and execution across source assessment, mapping, transformation, validation, testing, cutover and post-go-live readiness, resolving issues swiftly to protect timelines.
- Design Integration and Documentation: Contribute to functional and technical designs, ensuring Tax and Treasury data dependencies and interfaces are explicit, controlled and testable.
- Data Governance Model: Partner with Data Governance, Master Data Management, Finance, Tax, Treasury and technology teams to establish sustainable ownership, stewardship and governance that endure beyond initial deployment.
- Testing and Deployment Support: Support SIT, UAT, cutover and deployment from a data-design perspective, driving defect resolution and ensuring readiness for go-live and market rollouts.
Essential Skills/Experience:
- Strong hands-on experience in SAP S/4HANA Finance data design, with a good understanding of Finance, Tax and Treasury processes.
- Minimum two end-to-end SAP S/4HANA implementation experiences, covering data design, migration, testing, cutover and deployment.

- Proven experience translating Tax and Treasury requirements into data models, enterprise data standards, data-quality rules, migration specifications and integration requirements.
- Experience working across complex SAP landscapes involving S/4HANA and integrated SAP/non-SAP Tax and Treasury applications.

- Strong analytical, problem-solving, documentation and stakeholder-management skills.
- Ability to thrive in a fast-paced global deployment environment, supporting the transition from pioneer entity implementation to multiple concurrent market deployments while maintaining high standards of data design and governance.
