Overview
In this Medical Advisor role, you translate the Disease Strategic Plan into a focused medical plan and measurable physician engagement in the UK/Ireland. You will partner with HCPs, clinical leaders and cross-functional teams to turn scientific insights into actionable tactics that support launches and patient outcomes. You’ll lead evidence generation, medical content, and compliant engagement using AI-enabled tools to accelerate insight synthesis. Responsibilities
- Lead development, implementation and evaluation of the medical tactical plan aligned to the Disease Strategic Plan and UK/Ireland healthcare needs
- Integrate scientific, clinical, patient, customer, pathway and healthcare-system intelligence to surface unmet needs and evidence gaps, translating insights into prioritised recommendations
- Contribute to real-world evidence, publications, registries and investigator-initiated research using approved analytics and AI-enabled tools
- Translate customer-experience priorities into coordinated, relevant and measurable scientific engagement for defined HCP and clinical opinion leader segments
- Shape early local medical strategy for pipeline assets and launches by integrating unmet needs, patient pathways and market access considerations
- Provide strategic medical input across Medical Affairs, Commercial, Market Access, Regulatory Affairs, Digital/Ops and field teams while maintaining medical independence
- Deliver timely, compliant medical review or certification in line with ABPI/IPHA Code and internal standards
Key requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Medicine, Pharmacy, Life Sciences or related field
- Strong understanding of Medical Affairs and UK/Ireland healthcare landscape
- Substantial pharmaceutical industry Medical Affairs or related experience
- Track record of contributing to disease strategy and medical tactics across product lifecycles
- Experience translating complex evidence into prioritised decisions and measurable actions
- Experience in evidence generation, publications and medical education
- Cross-functional collaboration with Medical Affairs, Commercial, Market Access, Regulatory Affairs, Digital/Ops and field teams
- Knowledge of ABPI/IPHA Code, pharmacovigilance and medical governance
- Ability to work independently, manage ambiguity and prioritise effectively
