Our internships immerse students in the pharmaceutical industry, allowing the opportunity to contribute to our diverse pipeline of medicines whether in the lab or outside of it. The AstraZeneca Summer Internship Program
- 10–12-week development experience running through the summer months.
- Internships are meant to be a catalyst in helping students gain hands-on learning & exposure to the career they’re pursuing.
- Internships benefit students by supporting them to:
- Build their professional network.
- Gain relevant experience for post-graduation opportunities.
- Expose them to AstraZeneca as a possible future employer.
Intern Eligibility Requirements:
- Students must be 18 years or older at time of hire; and not require sponsorship to work in the UK.
- Students pursuing undergraduate, masters or doctoral degree.
- A salary will be paid.
Accountabilities:
- Build networking relationships with others in the L&D team, HR and the business as a whole.
- Develop knowledge around the HRD and people within the business.
- Complete and build skills around administration related to HR, L&D and Communications.
Essential Skills:
- Computer Literate
- Detail-oriented, accurate, and organized in your approach
- GCSEs including Maths & English
- Confident using Microsoft Office packages (Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint)
- Enthusiastic with a positive attitude
- Hard working and organised
Desirable:
- An interest in business and people/psychology
Key activities:
- Help the team with HR process administration.
- Assist with calendar management, HR process implementation, and step in when administrative support is needed.
- Put together communications for the site workplace intranet, support the Communications Manager with communication administration tasks and events.
- Support training administration processes where required including processing of training forms and monitoring of the email inbox.
- Co-ordinate site training.
