The Opportunity

Astrantia Talent is partnering with a growing organisation in the plastics recycling and materials sector to appoint a high-performing Business Development Manager. This is a fully remote, commercially focused role with a national remit, giving you the autonomy to develop business across the UK (and potentially wider markets).

The position is centred on new business generation, strategic account development, and driving revenue growth across plastic and polymer waste streams. You'll work with clients across industries such as manufacturing, packaging, FMCG, automotive, and industrial sectors, helping them optimise waste streams and create value from recyclable materials.

Key Responsibilities

  • Drive new business acquisition across plastics and recyclable material streams
  • Build, manage, and convert a strong national pipeline of opportunities
  • Develop relationships with key stakeholders across target industries
  • Identify high-value material streams (e.g. HDPE, LDPE, PET, PP, films, regrind) and create commercial solutions
  • Negotiate and close long-term, high-value supply and offtake agreements
  • Collaborate with internal teams to ensure smooth onboarding and service delivery
  • Stay ahead of market trends, pricing movements, and competitor activity
  • Represent the business at client meetings, industry events, and trade shows

About You

  • Proven success in a business development / sales role within plastics, recycling, or waste management
  • Strong understanding of polymers, plastic grades, and recycling processes
  • Experience selling into sectors such as manufacturing, packaging, FMCG, or industrials
  • A proactive hunter with a consistent track record of winning new business
  • Strong commercial acumen and confident negotiation skills
  • Existing industry network (highly advantageous)
  • Self-driven and comfortable working remotely with national coverage
