Astrantia Talent is recruiting on behalf of an established international business operating within plastics recycling and the circular economy. We are looking for a commercially driven Business Development Manager to develop and grow the company's recyclable plastics supply network across Northern Ireland. This isn't a traditional sales role. You'll be working on the purchasing and trading side of the recycled plastics market, identifying businesses generating recyclable plastic materials, developing new supplier relationships and negotiating commercially attractive agreements. You'll take ownership of your territory and spend a significant amount of time in the market, visiting suppliers, understanding their material streams and identifying opportunities to bring valuable plastics back into the supply chain.

What you'll be doing:

  • Develop and grow a network of recyclable plastic suppliers across Northern Ireland
  • Identify new opportunities across waste management, recycling, manufacturing and plastics processing
  • Proactively research, approach and visit prospective suppliers
  • Purchase commercially viable volumes of scrap and recyclable plastics
  • Build strong, long-term relationships with new and existing accounts
  • Visit supplier sites and inspect materials
  • Assess material quality, volume, consistency and commercial suitability
  • Negotiate pricing, volumes and commercial agreements
  • Work closely with international trading, sales, logistics and operational teams
  • Monitor market movements, material availability and pricing
  • Maintain accurate CRM records and manage a healthy commercial pipeline
  • Regularly travel throughout Northern Ireland to meet suppliers and develop the territory

What we're looking for:

Ideally, you'll bring commercial experience within recycling, waste management, plastics, polymers, raw materials or commodity trading. However, we're also interested in commercially strong individuals from related industries who understand how to develop business, negotiate confidently and build long-term B2B relationships. Most importantly, we're looking for someone entrepreneurial, persistent and comfortable taking ownership of a territory. You should enjoy being out in the market: meeting people, understanding businesses, spotting opportunities and turning conversations into commercially sustainable partnerships.

Interested? If you'd like to learn more about the opportunity, please contact: Jenny Böhnlein, Astrantia Talent. Phone: +49 176 31196980, Email: jenny@astrantiatalent.com. All applications and conversations will be treated with complete confidentiality.
