Do you have a genuine passion for classic sports cars and a desire to work at the very highest level of craftsmanship within the automotive world? Aston Workshop is one of the UK’s leading specialists in the sales, servicing, and restoration of heritage Aston Martin motor cars. From the earliest post-war models through to the iconic DB4, DB5 and V8 era, we work on some of the most significant and valuable cars ever produced.

Based in a purpose-built 45,000 sq ft facility in the Beamish countryside, our team of over 40 skilled specialists carry out full ground-up restorations, precision engineering, and bespoke builds to standards recognised throughout the industry. This is not a production environment. Every project is approached with care, accuracy, and an emphasis on quality over volume. Opportunities to join the team are rare and reserved for individuals who take genuine pride in their work and value craftsmanship over simply getting the job done.

We are now looking for an experienced and detail-focused Restoration Technician to join our established team.

The Role

You will work on heritage vehicles including Aston Martin DB4, Aston Martin DB5, Aston Martin DB6, Aston Martin DBS, Aston Martin V8 and pre-war Lagonda models, undertaking full mechanical restoration from strip-down through to final assembly and road validation.

Responsibilities include:

  • Complete mechanical strip, rebuild, and reassembly of classic vehicles
  • Diagnosis and rectification of mechanical faults
  • Build up of vehicles from bare painted body
  • Road testing and quality verification
  • Maintaining a clean, organised, and safe working environment
  • Upholding the high standards expected of Aston Workshop builds

About You

  • Significant experience within classic car restoration or a high-end automotive environment
  • Strong mechanical background with relevant qualifications
  • A meticulous approach with a focus on detail, finish, and longevity
  • A genuine interest in heritage vehicles and engineering
  • Demonstrable skill in traditional, hand-built craftsmanship, with an eye for detail expected in concours-level restoration work

The Opportunity

This role offers the chance to work on some of the most iconic cars in automotive history, within a business that values craftsmanship, engineering excellence, and continuous development. Located within the Red Row Estate in Beamish, alongside the renowned The Black Horse Beamish, our facility provides a relaxed yet highly professional working environment. Working hours are Monday to Friday, 40 hours per week. Salary is competitive and dependent on experience.
