The Department

Our Girls Academy Department has established itself as a leader in girls youth football development, consistently delivering the highest standards in coaching, education and training across 10 teams with players aged U10 - U21. We are committed to nurturing talent and creating a supportive and professional environment and we are proud of the role we play in shaping the next generation of female footballers as demonstrated in our recent success with our U21s winning the Professional Game Academy.

The Role

Working as an Assistant Physical Performance Coach, you will be responsible for assisting with the development and delivery of a Sports Science and Strength and Conditioning support programme to players within the Girls Academy. You will support and assist with pre-training preparation, post training strategies, field-based conditioning and general sport science support to players, specifically with a focus on the Youth Development Phase (ages 12 - 16). Working collaboratively with coaching staff, you will help shape training practices that integrate physical, technical, tactical, and psychological components, ensuring that every session maximises player development in an efficient and effective manner. You will work closely with the Lead Physical Performance Coach and wider multi-disciplinary team to provide an integrated and holistic approach to performance enhancement and maintain a comprehensive database of programmes and session plans for athletes and coaches.

The Person

You must hold a BSc in Sports Science, Strength and Conditioning (or equivalent) and have demonstrable experience of planning and delivering physical performance programmes and physical testing. You must have experience of working with children, specifically the coaching of young players as well knowledge of the Women's game and the player development pathway. We are seeking a practical and organised professional with a calm and positive attitude. You will need to have clear, concise, and accurate verbal and written communication skills and be able to thrive under pressure in a fast-paced environment. This role will require flexibility and travel, which will include evenings, weekends and matchdays.
