The Department
Our Membership and Loyalty Team are part of our wider Venue Sales and Commercial Development Department whose focus is on how we attract, engage, retain and reward our members. Our fans are vital in our success both on and off the pitch – our official Villa membership club and the wider Lions Club members are a critical part of this. We want to continue the strong position these clubs have already created by increasing the members, improving our communication with our members and building a greater sense of community and engagement through our shared passion.
The Role
We are looking for someone to take forward the growth and development of our membership programme and the delivery of membership benefits across the club. A key focus will be growth, particularly overseas and the reimagining of our Lions Clubs and loyalty programme. This is a dynamic and varied role – you will lead the development of a comprehensive membership growth strategy focusing on acquisition, engagement and retention. A key part of this will be identifying and delivering unique, exclusive benefits for our members. You will be the ‘go-to’ person for our members – representing the club at meetings. A major focus of the role will be building relationships and working collaboratively with internal teams across the Club – including Marketing, Partnerships and Ticketing to provide a best-in-class service. You will also be responsible for the analysis and reporting of our membership data to assess our programme effectiveness and identify areas for improvement.
The Person
We are looking for someone who has proven experience of delivering and managing a membership, subscription or affiliate programme, not necessarily in sport. You will need to have experience of working in a marketing environment – understanding campaign delivery, audience engagement and brand-led communication. You will need to have exceptional interpersonal and communication skills, being able to speak in public – presenting reasonable arguments and thoughts. You will need to have strong organisational and planning skills with the ability to work dynamically – adapting to changing conditions in a fast-paced environment. This role will involve you predominantly working on site at our Bodymoor Heath Training Ground offices, you will need a full UK driving licence with access to a vehicle to travel between our Club sites. You will need to be available to work flexibly, which may include matchdays and travelling nationally and internationally as and when required.
