At the heart of every successful project is our Security Team who are dedicated to promoting a strong security culture and play a crucial role in the operational engine of any event. They protect our staff, partners and guests, ensuring that any guests that join us at Villa Park for any kind of event can enjoy their experience and return home safely.
We are looking for an Event Security Manager who will manage and oversee all non-matchday events (including The Warehouse) at Villa Park including any concerts. Some of your key responsibilities and accountabilities will be the creation of dynamic risk assessment and deployment plans and implementation of relevant control measures and security related documentation/policies for our non-football related events to deliver a safe and secure event.
You will work collaboratively with our external partners including Safety Advisory Groups, Event Policing Departments, SIA, event organisers/promoters to provide information and to work through plans to ensure we are able to deliver the security to the necessary standard. You will also be the key contact to liaise and manage staffing levels for our non-matchday events with our approved security providers. The role will require you to adapt and be flexible - whilst you will be responsible for the management and oversight of the events security strategy; you will also be visible, approachable and on the ground at events providing real time support and decision making to the wider team.

- Serve as the key contact to liaise with and manage staffing levels for non-matchday events with approved security providers.
- Be visible, approachable, and on the ground at events to provide real-time support and decision making to the wider team.
- Demonstrable experience managing the operational security requirements of a venue of at least 1,000 capacity (e.g., 1,000+).
- Experience in creating and implementing risk assessments, working with local authorities and third-party agencies.
- Proven experience in dynamic incident management, including rapid assessment, de-escalation, and coordination with relevant teams or emergency services as required.
- Proactive approach with high integrity; excellent interpersonal skills and ability to build strong relationships with a wide range of stakeholders, internal and external.
- Ability to motivate others to deliver exceptional levels of security and customer service.
- Organised with exceptional attention to detail; clear, concise, and accurate verbal and written communication skills; ability to thrive under pressure in a fast-paced environment.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office (Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
- A Level 5 in Crowd Safety Management and a Public Space Surveillance (CCTV) licence would be ideal, but not essential.
- Flexibility to work evenings and weekends as required by the event calendar; may support other stadium events as needed.
