The Engagement, Sport & Wellbeing division is newly formed, complementing the organisations 2024 – 2028 strategic plan. The Engagement, Sport & Wellbeing division brings together several departments, all of which contribute to providing a landscape of opportunities for children and young people in a variety of education, development and learning settings. The Youth Engagement department is a fundamental strand within the Foundation and is critical in supporting young people to raise their aspirations and divert them away from negative influences, within Birmingham and its surrounding areas.

As a Youth Engagement Mentor, you will be responsible to deliver and develop high-quality, school-based Youth Engagement provision across Premier League programmes and the wider Youth Engagement Offer, engaging and empowering marginalised and ‘at-risk’ young people with complex needs, raising their aspirations through high-quality mentoring and positive engagement experiences.

The Aston Villa Foundation is seeking a highly skilled and motivated Youth Engagement Mentor, with excellent communication and active listening skills, alongside a strong ability to demonstrate empathy, build trust, and inspire and motivate others. You will need to demonstrate experience in designing, leading, and delivering educational interventions for young people and hold a relevant qualification such as a Level 2 diploma in Effective Mentoring (or equivalent). Given the nature of the role, you must have excellent interpersonal skills, with the ability to build positive and professional relationships with a wide range of stakeholders, including young people, families, schools, and community partners.

Aston Villa Football Club celebrates the diversity of its Club and embraces equal opportunities for all. We welcome applications from all candidates regardless of age, race, disability, gender reassignment, pregnancy and maternity, sexual orientation, marriage and civil partnership, sex and religion or belief.

Aston Villa Football Club is fully committed to safeguarding children and adults at risk across our Club. As such, we adhere to Safer Recruitment processes and for some roles a satisfactory enhanced disclosure via the Disclosure & Barring Service may be required prior to starting in a role at the Club.
