The Department

Aston Villa Women FC compete in the Barclays Women’s Super League, the highest league in the country for women’s professional football. We are proud of the growth we have achieved as a team, and we now stand at an exciting and transformative moment. As the women’s game accelerates in visibility, value and influence, we are building a new, dynamic team to shape the next chapter of our growth.

The Role

We have a new opportunity for a Social Media Executive to join the team to help shape the voice and presence of Aston Villa Women across all social platforms. In this role, you will manage the day-to-day content output across our Club’s social media channels – ensuring that all content aligns and reflects the Club’s identity, brand and tone of voice.

You will manage the day-to-day scheduling, publishing, and optimisation of Aston Villa Women’s social media, delivering high-quality content that engages and resonates with our fanbase. You will also lead the planning, creation, editing, and publication of phone-first content—including short-form video, interviews, and matchday and training footage—to support brand growth, fan engagement, and compelling storytelling.

You will deliver engaging, real-time social coverage for all Women’s matches and events, including live updates and on-the-ground video stories. In addition, you will work closely within the wider content team to produce compelling and cohesive content aligned across channels.

You will contribute to the delivery of the social media strategy by identifying platform-specific opportunities to grow audiences and deepen fan engagement. You will also collaborate with stakeholders across the business to support the promotion of key news, communications, marketing activity, and ticketing updates across social channels.

The Person

We are looking for someone who is pro-active and hands on with the ability to help grow and enhance Aston Villa Women’s social media channels and digital output. You will need to have previous experience in social media platform engagement within sport or a fast-paced environment and a knowledge of current social media trends and best practices.

You must have strong writing and editorial skills with the ability to adapt tone across audiences and channels that resonates with our fans and produce high quality content whilst maintaining high attention to detail. We are looking for someone who can build strong relationships, has excellent verbal and written communication skills which are clear, concise, and accurate with the ability to plan manage and report on multiple projects and priorities effectively.

Given the nature of this role, you will need to hold a full, UK driving licence with access to your own vehicle and be able to work flexibly as this role will include evenings, weekends and matchdays.
