The Department


The Aston Villa Foundation is the official Charity of Aston Villa Football Club and prides itself in being innovative in its approach to the club being used as a ‘Force for Good’. The Communication’s Department sits within the Foundation’s Central Operations, supporting to share the important work and impact the Foundation’s delivery has in the communities in the immediate vicinities of Villa Park. Support the Foundation's mission of "Working Together to Enrich Lives", the Communication’s team support in showcasing the impact of more than 40 community programmes delivered across areas such as education, employability, health and wellbeing, disability sport, youth services, and community relations, through a variety of different outputs including social media, Articles, Networking Events, Matchday Programmes and Activations and more.


The Role


In this role, you will be responsible for the planning and delivery of digital and physical marketing campaigns and materials that builds awareness of Foundation programmes among communities, schools, partners and stakeholders, supporting the Foundation’s Delivery Threads, and the Business Development and Fundraising teams. You will proactively advertise upcoming events, paid-for programmes and community-based activities to a wide variety of audience types, and demonstrate effective monitoring and reporting to demonstrate impact. You will also become a point of contact between the Foundation and Aston Villa Football Club marketing and design teams, to utilize Aston Villa Football Club marketing and promotional tools and assets. The role holder will lead on the creation of graphics and utilisation of design templates that are in keeping with Aston Villa Football Club brand guidelines. You will also support in the wider production of first-class written content, which will be used across digital, print and social media both internally and externally.   • A Qualification in Marketing or Equivalent Experience in creating graphics and marketing material with Adobe Software Experience with Copywriting for Articles, Newsletters, and Social Media.

  • Experience with SEO and CMS Systems and Paid Advertising Willing to demonstrate continuous development to keep up with current trends.

  • You will need to be organised, and able to prioritise workload whilst being flexible.

  • This will be a hands-on role, with the protentional of travelling to various locations across Birmingham.

  • You will need to hold a UK Driving License with access to your own vehicle.

  • You will also need to be available to work flexibly, including matchdays, evenings and weekends.
