Hours of Work: 35 hours per week (including Evenings and Weekends)

Contract Type: Permanent

Salary: Up to £36,000 per annum dependent on experience

Location: Villa Park (with requirements to travel to and from community sessions around Birmingham)

The Department

The Aston Villa Foundation is the official Charity of Aston Villa Football Club and prides itself in being innovative in its approach to the club being used as a ‘Force for Good’. The Engagement, Sport & Wellbeing division is newly formed, complementing the organisation's 2024 – 2028 strategic plan. The Engagement, Sport & Wellbeing division brings together several departments, all of which contribute to providing a landscape of opportunities for children and young people in a variety of education, development and learning settings. The Youth Engagement department is a fundamental strand within the Foundation and is critical in supporting young people to raise their aspirations and divert them away from negative influences, within Birmingham and its surrounding areas.

The Role

The Youth Engagement Manager role is an existing role for an experienced project/programme manager, with a proven track record in designing, coordinating, resourcing, and delivering impactful youth-focused projects. The post sits within a creative, fast‑paced, and dynamic environment in a busy and growing charitable organisation with a strong reputation. The Youth Engagement Manager (Engagement, Sport & Wellbeing) will be responsible for leading and inspiring a coordinator and a team of youth engagement officers and mentors. They will support the team to deliver high‑quality, meaningful programmes that empower young people, raise aspirations, and create positive pathways. The role will also focus on identifying new opportunities to expand our reach, strengthen our impact, and support the ongoing development of our people.

The Person

The Aston Villa Foundation is seeking a high-skilled, driven and purposeful manager with a genuine interest in charitable and community work, particularly in supporting and empowering young people. You will be experienced and proficient in managing people, coordinating projects/programmes and have a strong track record of partnership working and collaborating with key stakeholders, and experienced in developing new project/service opportunities in your chosen field. At the same time, you can expect flexibility in the role, autonomy and commitment to professional development, inside a vibrant and rewarding working environment.
