We are excited to offer a fantastic opportunity to join an award-winning team as a Cleaning Team Leader within Estates and Capital Development. This is a full-time, permanent position working 36.5 hours per week.
As the successful candidate, your working hours will be Monday to Thursday from 5:30am to 1:30pm, and Friday from 5:30am to 12:30pm. You will also be required to work one weekend in five on a rota basis, and one late shift each week from 10:00am to 6:00pm, also on a rota basis.
Responsibilities
Reporting to the Senior Team Leader, the successful candidate will be responsible for managing a team of 12 cleaning staff and ensuring high standards of cleanliness and service are maintained. You will be expected to use university systems and programmes confidently, and complete cleaning audits using the app provided. Cleaning duties will form approximately 30–40% of your role. You will deliver excellent customer service, train new staff, and provide refresher training on university cleaning procedures. You will use the university radio and telephone for communication, manage stock control and ordering in collaboration with the supervisor, and support university events by working additional hours when required.
You will additionally demonstrate excellent time management, conduct return-to-work interviews, and undertake all required training to perform your role safely and effectively. As part of a large team, you will work collaboratively and be responsible for issuing and managing keys and a radio. You must follow all health and safety procedures and work in a safe manner at all times. A uniform and all necessary PPE will be provided.
