Aston University is seeking professional, customer-focused and proactive individuals to join our Campus Safety Team as Campus Safety Officers.
Based in the heart of Birmingham, Aston University is a vibrant and diverse community.
Our Campus Safety Team plays a vital role in ensuring the safety, security and wellbeing of students, staff and visitors 24 hours a day, 365 days a year.
As a Campus Safety Officer, you will be responsible for maintaining a safe and secure campus environment through a combination of customer service, security patrols, incident response and emergency support.
Please note, this role is 5 days onsite and a night shift allowance is offered.
- Conducting foot and vehicle patrols across campus.
- Responding to incidents, emergencies and welfare concerns.
- Monitoring CCTV, access control and alarm systems.
- Supporting students, staff and visitors with safety-related enquiries.
- Managing access to buildings and enforcing University policies.
- Recording incidents and maintaining accurate reports.
- Working closely with emergency services and internal stakeholders.
- Assisting major events, open days and graduation ceremonies.
We are looking for individuals who

- Can remain calm and professional under pressure.
- Demonstrate sound judgement and strong problem-solving abilities.
- Are committed to delivering outstanding customer service.
- Can work effectively both independently and as part of a team.
- Possess good IT and report-writing skills.
Previous experience in security, policing, military service, customer service or a similar operational environment is desirable but not essential.
