We are looking for a dependable and hardworking cleaner to help maintain a clean, safe, and welcoming environment at our community centre. The role involves cleaning a variety of spaces used by the public, including halls, activity rooms, offices and kitchens. This includes outside spaces. This role is for cleaning our community centre mainly on weekends, with the opportunity to cover Monday to Friday shifts as absence or holiday cover.

Key Responsibilities

  • Clean and maintain all areas of the community centre, including halls, meeting rooms, kitchens, and toilets.
  • Sweep, mop, vacuum, and dust surfaces regularly.
  • Clean and sanitise high‑touch areas such as door handles, tables, and equipment.
  • Empty waste bins and ensure proper disposal of rubbish and recycling.
  • Ensure replenishing of cleaning supplies and report stock shortages.
  • Report any maintenance issues, damages, or health and safety hazards.
  • Follow all health, safety, and hygiene regulations.

Aston-Mansfield Community Centre (AMCC) is our multi‑purpose community centre in Manor Park, Newham. It is recognised as a safe haven within our local community and is open to everyone regardless of age, ability, religion or ethnicity. AMCC is open 7 days a week and is home to our offices and the base for much of our work, including our regular Little Manor Playscheme, events for young people, workshops for charities and more. AMCC is also home to other community organisations, and is rented long‑term and for one-off events, sessions and groups.
