We are seeking enthusiastic and dedicated young people (18-25) to join our team as Young Facilitators for Breaking Boundaries, our new social cohesion project.
30 hours a month at Aston-Mansfield Community Centre, Manor Park, E12 5JF.
Aston-Mansfield has been working in the heart of east London for over 130 years. Our work with children, young people and families offers hope and practical experiences to build aspirations and create better futures. Working with over 600 young people each year, our aim is to create a vibrant and inclusive learning environment so that young people can become successful and active citizens contributing to their communities.
We are proud of our work in developing and supporting young people from minority communities to build resilience and confidence, equipping them with the tools and skills to make positive life choices through our peer-led training and learning workshops. Our formula of formal and informal learning, together with interactive, fun and creative activities, meets different learning needs and provides a joyous and safe environment for young people to flourish. Our work with young people has achieved the London Youth Silver Quality Mark award for 2025 to 2028.
About the Role: Breaking Boundaries is our new, four-year, youth-led programme designed to improve social cohesion, strengthen belonging, and reduce loneliness and isolation across communities in Newham. We are seeking enthusiastic and dedicated young people aged 18-25 who possess excellent communication skills and a strong sense of initiative to support the delivery of our Breaking Boundaries Collective programme as Young Facilitators.
In this role, you will work closely with a cohort of 35-40 young Changemakers (aged 16-21) to design, develop and deliver meaningful community activities. These projects will bring people together, break down barriers, promote cultural understanding and encourage positive intergenerational and intercultural relationships.
This role provides an exciting opportunity for young people passionate about community, wellbeing, culture and youth leadership. You will gain experience in facilitation, project planning, outreach, group work and event delivery, while playing a central role in improving community relationships in Newham.
Closing Date: Thursday 5th February 2026 at 5pm. Interviews will take place in the week commencing 9th February.
