Contract: Fixed term contract until July 2026, full-time hours, 52 weeks a year, based on-site but flexible working considered

Aston Education is working with a large Ofsted Good secondary school in Bromley looking for an HR Advisor. As an HR Advisor, you'll provide generalist HR support to the Headteacher and the senior leadership team. You will be responsible for all aspects of recruitment, onboarding, pre-employment checks, payroll administration, as well as maintaining and updating the school's Single Central Record and HR systems. You'll provide advice on the school's HR policies and procedures, draft contracts and letters and advise on disciplinaries, grievances and absence.

You’ll have:

  • CIPD qualification (Level 3 or above) or relevant Degree
  • Experience of providing generalist HR advice and support on HR policies/procedures, preferably in a school
  • Experience of advising senior managers on employment law issues, including disciplinary, absence management, grievances and capability procedures
  • Experience of recruitment, onboarding, pre-employment checks, as well as updating a school's Single Central Record
  • Up to date knowledge of employment legislation and HR best practice
  • A strong understanding of equality of opportunity and diversity of issues
  • Excellent communication skills, verbal and written
