Contract: Permanent, 35 hours a week (8am to 4pm), Mondays to Fridays, 42.9 weeks

Aston Education is working with an Ofsted Good two-form entry Primary Academy in Lewisham, Southeast London, looking for a permanent full-time HLTA (Higher Level Teaching Assistant).

As an HLTA, you\’ll create an engaging learning environment and plan and teach whole class lessons across all key stages (EYFS, KS1 and KS2) to cover teachers\’ PPA time.

The role involves planning and delivering whole-class lessons across all key stages to cover teachers\’ PPA time, creating a positive and inclusive learning environment, and supporting pupil progress.

Qualifications, experience, and skills

  • A -C grade in English and Maths at GCSE level or equivalent
  • TA qualification
  • HLTA qualification is desired
  • Experience working with pupils in a primary school
  • Experience leading whole classes or large groups
  • Experience of working with children with SEND (ASD/ ADHD/ Attachment difficulties)
  • Ability to speak and teach German or French at Primary level is desired
  • Calm, patient and caring attitude with a good sense of humour
  • A good understanding of child protection and safeguarding guidelines
  • Passion to make a positive difference
