Aston Education is working with an Ofsted Good 11-18 secondary academy in Lewisham, Southeast London (inner London). The school is looking for a permanent full-time Head of Creative Arts with QTS/QTLS who has the ability to motivate and inspire others and teach across the age and ability range from KS3 to KS5.

Responsibilities include:

As Head of Creative Arts, you will lead Art, Design, Hospitality & Catering, and Photography, setting a clear vision for an engaging, inclusive, and ambitious Creative Arts curriculum. This is a genuine opportunity to shape curriculum, provision, and outcomes across the Creative Arts, inspiring students through high-quality practical and creative learning. While the role spans all Creative Arts subjects, this post would ideally suit a candidate with an Art or Design Technology background and a readiness to take on broader faculty leadership.

The school is part of a respected medium size multi academy trust, and their reputation is built on a tradition of high standards and academic excellence. They support every single student and staff member in reaching their full potential.

You have:

  • Qualified teacher status (QTS)
  • Degree in Art and Design or another relevant subject
  • Successful experience teaching Art or Design Technology to KS3-KS5
  • Proven track record of improving the quality of teaching and learning
  • Experience coaching and mentoring colleagues
  • Experience in a Key Stage Lead or Second in Charge of Art or Design Technology role would be beneficial
