Job: Finance Officer (part-time)
School: Secondary Academy, Hillingdon, West London
Start date:As soon as possible
Annual FTE Salary: £34,715
Actual annual salary: £23,500 (approx.)
Contract: Temporary ongoing, part-time 30 hours per week (Monday to Friday), term time only plus 10 days during summer holidays (41 weeks a year). Permanent job is available for the right candidate.
Aston Education is looking for a proactive Finance Officer to join this 14-18 secondary school in Hillingdon to start as soon as possible. Part-time working from home option can be discussed.
As a Finance Officer,you'll work closely with the School Business Manager to support the school's finance functions.
You have good experience of using Sage 200 and providing accurate accounts to the leadership team within an education setting, preferably in a secondary academy.
Responsibilities include:
- To support the School Business Manager to ensure the statutory accounts for the academy are completed to an agreed timetable
- To provide efficient and effective financial and administrative support to the academy
- To issue purchase orders
- To process accounts payable and accounts receivable in a timely manner, including liaison with internal and external suppliers
- To record details of payroll payments to staff, pension providers and HMRC, and reconcile to the monthly payroll journal
- To maintain accurate financial records; ensuring invoices, payments and receipts are processed on the day they are received
- To assist with the month end processes
- To assist in the production and completion of reports
