Aston Community Education Trust are a forward thinking and ambitious multi-academy trust, comprising of three secondary academies and nine junior academies across the Rotherham, Sheffield and North Derbyshire areas. We are seeking to appoint a highly motivated and effective Finance Manager who will be based at the ACET Business Hub. This role will attract individuals with previous professional finance experience. The post holder will report to the Chief Finance Officer / Deputy Chief Finance Officer in delivering robust financial management, statutory compliance and high-quality reporting across the Trust. The successful candidate will be an effective communicator and work to a high degree of accuracy and attention to detail.
The successful candidate will:
- Have direct responsibility for financial operations across 4 academies within ACET, including line management of School Business Managers
- Be responsible for payroll management and reconciliations.
- Be responsible for VAT and taxation claims.
- Ensure compliance with DfE, ESFA, HMRC and Academy Trust Handbook requirements.
- Ensure effective stewardship of public funds.
- Provide Academy and Stakeholder support.
