This is arguably the most exciting insurance company in the market right now.
Currently enjoying 20% year on year growth, and with plans to double in size over the next 5 years, this organisation is investing heavily in the growth of its broker distribution arm.
“Nationally, and internationally, this is an all-eyes-on project. The launch of our Cyber Division is the highest profile development in this business at present – these are crucial positions and your successes will be visible to the Board on both sides of the Atlantic”, so says the Director of this specialist insurer.
The UK SME Cyber market presents a compelling proposition for any dynamic insurer that is able to react quickly to changes in this this fast-paced niche. The SME Cyber market currently delivers circa £300M in gross written premiums across the UK, and is anticipated to grow 15% annually over each of the next five years. As such, the creation of a standalone UK SME proposition resents a significant profitable growth initiative for this insurer’s UK Broker Chanel Unit (already its largest and fastest growing Division).
This new operating model comprises a dedicated Cyber team (comprising some of the most gifted Underwriters in the niche), and is supported by a scalable digital trading capability.
Aston Charles is delighted to have been retained to assist in the appointment of a number of Development Underwriters. These are home-based roles, and you can reside anywhere in the UK – although you will have to regularly engage with an allocated panel of brokers in person, and occasionally visit a local office. We welcome applications from experienced Cyber Development Underwriters, as well as Cyber Underwriters seeking a more broker-facing position, and DU’s from related insurance disciplines who can demonstrate a passion for Cyber.
Here, you will support the development plan for a specific panel of brokers, working in close conjunction with the Head of Trading, Head of Cyber and Broker Development Director to achieve the strategic aims and income goals outlined in the Cyber financial plan.
You will be responsible for developing and maintaining strong broker relationships, and provide excellent service to all stakeholders.
You will also be personally responsible for writing (often complex) Cyber business, in-line with your authority level, and within the businesses appetite for risk.
You must have a strong track record of building broker relationships and developing a pipeline of business. You’ll also demonstrate an enthusiasm for engaging with brokers, together with an ability to get them to understand the benefits of this exciting new product.
As one would expect from joining this Division, pre-launch, in such a high-profile position, it really does mean that the sky is the limit in terms of progression.
You will benefit from a highly competitive basic salary, plus 25% bonus (paid quarterly) and a comprehensive range of benefits.
