“We’re not talking back street car lots, and certainly nothing ‘under the arches’ – our clients are prestige dealerships, national recovery businesses, and multi-site repair centres that have been in the same family for generations”, so says the Director of this well known broking house's Automotive Practice Group.
This firm controls a significant market share of the corporate motor trade insurance sector, and as it owns an IT company whose specialist motor trade software is the favoured IT package of most of the corporate businesses, it has an established trading relationship with an even larger portion of the top-end market.
This broker stands out from its competitors in a crowded market due to its comprehensive service offering; including a specialist automotive risk management team that understands all the nuances of various disciplines under the wider motor-trade umbrella.
As it produces regular ‘thought leadership’ pieces and publishes market insights in the industry press, holds various events and seminars, its team are recognised as credible, influential and trusted advisors to the motor trade sector.
Due to the continued acquisition of quality accounts, the need has arisen for an additional Corporate Account Executive to join the Automotive Practice Group in a senior capacity. Here, you will inherit a substantial portfolio of corporate clients.
Whilst the exact make-up of this portfolio can be tweaked to suit your location, experience and ambitions, it is likely to total several hundred thousand pounds in income, and it’s worth noting that the Automotive Practice Group’s clientele don’t tend to pay fees less than £20,000 (and many generating six-figure income).
You will be aided by a talented team of Account Handlers, Brokers and Claims professionals, and have access to a variety of exclusive agreements with the sector’s leading insurance companies.
As this role involves looking after many of the Automotive Practice Group’s largest and most complex accounts, you will have clients over a reasonably large geographical territory. As such, you will likely be working remotely most days, with the expectation to check into a regional office every week or two.
You will receive a generous basic salary, and whilst it is worth stressing that the focus of this role is very much on the management of existing accounts, you will receive a bespoke bonus for any new business that you choose to do. You will also receive a highly competitive range of company benefits, including an impressive pension arrangement.
