Responsibilities

  • Learn the ropes of commercial insurance broking through an extensive in-house training programme, including practical application of insurance concepts and product features.
  • Promote covers such as Employer’s & Public Liability, Professional Indemnity and Property Insurance to customers from various industry sectors.
  • Visit customers and banking partners, initially with an experienced Account Executive, and later with increasing autonomy, spending a lot of time on the road.
  • Work with a leading High Street bank to generate a high volume of warm, qualified leads from their customer base.
  • Develop a sophisticated approach to business development, including solutions-based selling, prospecting, highlighting USPs, using open questions and trial closing.
  • Manage relationships with banking partners in the region and maintain excellent stakeholder-management skills.
  • Operate in a hybrid/remote setup (checking-in to a local office) across the M62 Corridor to Newcastle, with portfolio allocation by region.

Qualifications and Skills

  • Demonstrable track record of success in a similar B2B sales-based role across various industry sectors.
  • Comfort engaging with senior decision-makers (MDs and FDs) across diverse sectors, from construction and manufacturing to technology and life sciences.
  • Self-motivated, well-organised, and capable of effective task management with a high degree of autonomy.
  • Excellent stakeholder-management and relationship-building skills.
