We are delighted to be partnering with this world-leading insurance company that is seeking a talented Team Leader in Leeds.

You will have probably seen this company in the press recently; for winning numerous prestigious insurance awards and plaudits, and achieving phenomenal growth. This is arguably the most exciting commercial insurer in the market right now.

Not only does the company provide crucial financial protection to a diverse range of customers, it also provides its employees with some of the most attractive career development opportunities in the market.

Many people who join this company cite, “this is the best place I have ever worked at”. It is genuinely difficult to find a company that invests so heavily in its staff because they want them to benefit from “proper careers, where every member of staff has a mentor.”

“We have superb management training here, which enables our leaders to exploit their full potential”, says the Head of Underwriting.

The company has recently moved to a brand new, state of the art office within one of Leeds City Centre’s most iconic buildings. We have been lucky enough to visit the new office, and it is most incredible office we have ever seen in Leeds!

You’ll provide leadership and direction to the renewal team, fostering a culture of excellence, accountability and continuous improvement. You’ll manage and monitor both team and individual performance taking action where necessary to improve, and you’ll set SMART goals, managing resource, prioritising workflow and reviewing key deliverables. Coaching and developing the team to a high level of performance, you’ll provide excellent service to brokers, prioritising renewals and mid-term adjustments to ensure deadlines are met. Being a growing business that very much listens to, and implements employees’ great ideas and suggestions, you’ll have the opportunity to get involved in some really interesting ad hoc projects and make a real difference.

It's essential that you have strong coaching / mentoring skills to develop the capabilities of all team members. We are looking for someone who is genuinely passionate about the professional development of others, as well as themselves!

We will consider applications from technically-focused Team Leaders from a commercial insurance background, as well as operational Team Leaders. We also welcome applications as well as Senior Underwriters (with some mentoring experience), who would like to transition into an official Team Leader role.

Our client operates a hybrid-working arrangement, allowing you to work 2 days from home. The team are well-renowned in the industry for their friendly, supportive and collaborative environment, and there are lots of sports and social events available, including an incredible annual summer ball!

You’ll be rewarded with an attractive basic salary (Negotiable, depending on experience), plus a highly lucrative 25% bonus scheme and impressive corporate benefits, which include substantial pension contributions.
