These are quality clients; sophisticated insurance buyers who want to be visited and will value your input and insights, so says the Director of this well-known broker when describing this exciting new role. This is a superb opportunity to join a high-performing and talented team of insurance professionals, whilst inheriting a longstanding and loyal portfolio of Commercial / Corporate accounts generating circa £350K commission and fee income.
The clients within this portfolio will range in size and complexity, with income typically sitting between £10,000 - £20,000 each, although there are certainly some outliers earning far more than this. Clients are from a range of industry sectors, both blue and white collar, such as Haulage, Tech and Retail.
Benefiting from the support of a dedicated team of Account Handlers, Brokers and support personnel, you will be tasked with developing a detailed understanding of your clients’ businesses and ensuring their insurance programme remains robust in an ever-changing risk landscape. Should you discover any exposures to emerging risks, you will suggest ways to mitigate these.
It is worth stressing that the focus here is very much on the management and retention of existing accounts, however, you will receive a generous bonus, should you grow the account (25% of renewable business, and 10% for 'one offs').
It is essential that you have a good understanding of all common commercial covers, and are comfortable dealing with clients from all walks of life and a variety of sectors. You should be a team player who is comfortable tasking junior colleagues, as well as helping them with their development. You will also be well-organised with a keen eye for detail and excellent task-management skills.
This broker is an advocate of flexible-working practices and also encourages a high degree of face-to-face client engagement, meaning that you are only expected in the office a couple of times per week. Of course, if you wish to be in the office more regularly, this is fine too.
In return, you will receive a basic salary that is anticipated to be to £65,000 - £80,000 although this is negotiable for outstanding candidates. In addition to the bonus outlined above, you will receive a range of flexible benefits that can be tweaked to your personal circumstances, including a highly competitive pension arrangement.
