A need has arisen for a Claims Handler to join the BTE (Before The Event) Legal Expenses Claims Team. The BTE Claims team deals with assessing and managing indemnity provided to policyholders for the purpose of pursuing/defending a range of legal action, including employment, property and contractual disputes. You will provide efficient claims handling services to all customers by responding to LEI claims using excellent written and call handling skills. Handling claims from start to conclusion, you'll investigate the validity of a claim and, where a claim is accepted, you'll maintain a regular review of its validity. This will include negotiating cost funding with solicitors and managing their costs to ensure compliance with policy terms and conditions. You'll regularly be liaising with solicitors, barristers, accountants, insurance brokers, and directly with policyholders.
We will consider candidates from a range of backgrounds. Perhaps you have a Legal qualification (either a Degree or A Level), together with some kind of professional work experience, where you have honed your communication skills and ability to liaise effectively with a wide range of stakeholders. Alternatively, you might be an Insurance Claims Handler with experience of dealing with Liability claims. It is not essential that you have previous experience within the Legal Expenses market as full training will be provided, and you will be assigned a mentor in order to build your knowledge and confidence within this arena.
