The role is based within the renewals department, dealing with a wide variety of fascinating risks including, but not limited to Professional Management Risks, Social Welfare, Care, Not For Profit and Charity policies. Underwriters within this team tell us that the cases are extremely interesting, and no day is the same.
Specific duties will include, but not be limited to, underwriting renewal cases, collaborating with the Claims team, as well as developing and maintaining excellent working relationships with the Technical department and the wider business. Youâll provide excellent service to brokers, prioritising renewals and mid-term adjustments to ensure deadlines are met. Being a growing business that very much listens to, and implements employeesâ great ideas and suggestions, youâll have the opportunity to get involved in some really interesting ad hoc projects and make a real difference.
It is not essential that you have previous experience within the above product lines as full training will be provided. However, you must have some underwriting experience encompassing Property / Liability / Commercial Combined OR Financial Lines insurance. It may be that you are currently an Insurance Broker, who has underwritten via delegated authority schemes. Itâs essential that you are well-organised and efficient, and as youâll regularly be dealing with brokers, youâll be engaging and professional.
