Top Insurer is building a London Market Claims Team in Leeds, established locally for over 20 years. The team comprises many of the region’s most gifted insurance professionals and has recently invested in prestigious office space. This dynamic insurer is using ingenuity, technical expertise, and cutting-edge technology to underwrite risks that other insurers avoid. The business is currently enjoying 20% year on year growth and aims to double in size within 5 years.
The new London Market Claims Team has 3 distinct divisions: Professional Risks, Energy, and Marine. You will play a key part in the development of this initiative, managing a team of Claims Adjusters and getting involved in various projects. You will personally manage a caseload of files with reserves up to US$250,000, and sometimes higher on a referral basis, primarily through the broker channel.
Your responsibilities will include:
- Managing your caseload on a cradle to grave basis
- Establishing quantum and investigating the circumstances around a loss
- Appointing Adjusters
- Keeping accurate records of all work undertaken
- Regularly updating in-house and London Market claims systems
- Compiling accurate management information for stakeholders
You should have previous London Market Claims experience, ideally with exposure to Liability-led losses. Applications are welcome from experienced Claims Team Leaders/Managers, as well as Senior Claims Handlers ready to take on their first leadership role. You’ll be approachable, inspiring, and passionate about bringing out the best in people.
The client is conveniently located near Leeds railway station, close to public transport links and city centre amenities. You will be able to work from home 1 day per week. In addition to a generous basic salary, you will receive a fantastic benefits package, including a lucrative bonus and an impressive pension arrangement.
For ambitious candidates, there are opportunities for progression locally as the team continues to grow, potentially into managerial, technical, or specialist roles, or moving across to other areas of the business such as Underwriting. Relocation to London and working from the City offices is also feasible if desired.
