Our client is one of the biggest names in commercial insurance, and has partnered with a leading High Street bank who have committed to generate a high volume of warm, qualified leads from their customer base.

As such, this is a fantastic place to \’learn the ropes\’ of commercial insurance broking. Prior to visiting these customers (initially, accompanied by an experienced Account Executive), you will undertake an extensive inhouse training programme, bringing you up to speed on the nuances of the insurance sector and how best to promote the features and benefits of various covers (such as Employer\’s & Public Liability, Professional Indemnity and Property Insurance) to customers from a variety of industry sectors. This practical training will, of course, be backed by professional qualifications under the Chartered Insurance Institute.

Responsibilities

  • Learn the ropes of commercial insurance broking and promote features and benefits of various covers to customers from diverse industry sectors.
  • Undertake extensive in-house training to understand the insurance sector and to support promotion of Employer\’s & Public Liability, Professional Indemnity and Property Insurance.
  • Manage relationships with banking partners in your region and work with a portfolio of bank branches.
  • Proactively develop new business through a sophisticated, solutions-based sales approach, including prospecting, highlighting USPs, using open questions and trial closing.
  • Become comfortable approaching MDs and FDs of businesses across sectors such as construction, manufacturing, technology, life sciences, and more.
  • Operate with autonomy, spend substantial time on the road visiting banks and prospective customers, and maintain strong task-management and self-motivation.

Qualifications / Experience

  • A demonstrable track record of success in a similar business-to-business (B2B) sales role.
  • Comfortable approaching senior decision-makers (MDs and FDs) across a wide range of sectors.
  • A sophisticated approach to business development, including solutions-based selling, prospecting, highlighting USPs, open questions and trial closing.
  • Excellent stakeholder-management skills and the ability to manage relationships with banking partners.
  • Self-motivated, well-organised, and capable of working with a high degree of autonomy.
