You will be responsible for promoting the company’s suite of commercial insurance products to a panel of brokers all over the UK. Your duties will include:
- Making Discovery telephone calls to brokers to find out what kind of business they are writing and which of the insurer’s products will be relevant to them.
- Identifying specific risks for which the underwriting team can quote.
- Following the sales process through to the inception of cover.
- Building strong relationships with your broker panel.
- Working closely with the regional business development team to ensure that sales objectives are met.
- Attending face-to-face broker visits as encouraged.
It is essential to have previous general insurance experience, either from an insurer or broker background, ideally including commercial insurance products. Exceptional candidates from a personal lines/high net worth background will also be considered. You should be engaging, inquisitive, and good at spotting opportunities, with superb communication skills and the ability to build strong rapport with brokers.
