In this varied role, duties will include:

  • Underwriting Construction risks across a multi-line portfolio
  • Managing a steady flow of incoming submissions via the CRM
  • Building and maintaining strong relationships with brokers, including some in-person meetings
  • Promoting the company’s underwriting appetite and capabilities
  • Contributing to the growth of newly-secured facilities and schemes
  • Acting as a technical referral point for complex risks

This product gives Construction Underwriters rare exposure to cross-class covers including Liability, Contract Works and PI. You’ll be working in conjunction with highly experienced colleagues across the company (including the specialist PI team), who will be able to help you plug any gaps in specific technical knowledge.

It’s essential that you have a successful track record of writing Construction insurance. Importantly, you must enjoy writing new business and have a solutions-focussed approach. You’ll have strong communication skills and genuinely enjoy trading with brokers, both over the phone and face to face.
