With a young management team who have been successfully operating with a high degree of autonomy since opening a local office for a national broker five years ago, this is a great place for an ambitious Senior Account Handler who wishes to combine a positive working environment with the chance to have meaningful input in the future direction of the branch. This broker has grown tremendously on a national level since its inception and is famed in the industry for its unwavering focus on client service, the technical ability of its staff, and its robust back-office support function that includes sophisticated use of IT.

This impressive growth trajectory has been reflected locally, and the East Leeds operation is now home to some of the best-known insurance professionals in the West Yorkshire market and holds some of the region’s most coveted accounts. Here, you will play a key part in supporting several Directors/Account Executives in the day-to-day servicing of a portfolio of clients. These accounts can range in complexity, with ‘bread & butter’ accounts being in the region of £10,000 - £25,000 commission and fee income, with some cases being many times this. Clients are from a range of industry sectors such as Manufacturing, Retail and Construction.

Duties will include:

  • Preparing renewals
  • Marketing risks & re-broking exercises
  • Dealing with mid-term amendments
  • Negotiating with insurers
  • Preparing a variety of reports and documentation

For those who are joining as a senior member of the team, you will also be expected to help less-experienced colleagues on an ad hoc basis, share best practice, and promote the activities of the CII and BIBA. Regardless of your seniority, there is a really open culture here, where everyone’s voices are heard, and you will be encouraged to contribute to ideas – whether that be for fun initiatives for the team or how to deliver heightened levels of client service.

Whilst we are keen to hear from Senior Account Handlers and those who have dealt with more complex risks, we welcome applications from Account Handlers and Brokers with all levels of experience. What is more important is attitude, enthusiasm and a passion for client service. You should also have good IT skills, a high degree of accuracy and an eye for detail.

This is a hybrid opportunity, where you will be encouraged to work from home several days per week, if desired. This broker is based on the outskirts of Garforth, minutes from the M1 and just a little further from the M62, East Leeds Orbital Road & A64, and has extensive, free on-site parking. The Springs Shopping Centre is just next door, and Leeds city centre is a convenient commute.

You will benefit from a generous basic salary, plus bonus, PMI, DIS, Cash Plan and 30 days holiday.
