It should be no surprise that when this dynamic insurer decided to build a London Market Claims Team in the UK regions, it plumped for Leeds – it has been established locally for over 20 years, already boasts a significant claims team that comprises many of the region’s most gifted insurance professionals, and has recently invested significantly in the acquisition of penthouse offices in perhaps Leeds’ most prestigious office addresses.
It is arguably the most exciting insurance company in the market right now, using ingenuity combined with technical expertise and cutting-edge technology to underwrite risks that other insurers shy away from. This ‘can do’ attitude, coupled with an unwavering focus on client service, is serving it well; the business is currently enjoying 20% year on year growth, and is well on track to exceed its plans to double in size within 5 years.
Working in this new team, you will be handling specialist Professional Indemnity claims from a range of industry sectors such as Solicitors, Architects, Engineers and Consultants. You’ll take responsibility for handling a portfolio of high-volume claims from first notification of loss through to final settlement. You’ll update in-house and London market claim related systems in relation to individual claims and ensure stakeholders are kept apprised of key developments and key information. In addition, you’ll diarise and triage claims as required by the Claims Handling Manual and subject these decisions to regular challenge and review. You’ll also develop and maintain excellent working relationships with brokers, as well as working with the Claims Manager on claims initiatives and projects to reach specific goals.
You DO NOT need to have experience in Professional Indemnity claims as full training will be provided. However, you must have some previous experience in insurance claims handling. We are open to experience here and will consider claims specialists from a range of backgrounds, including but not limited to, personal lines, commercial or healthcare insurance. Crucially, you must be well-organised and efficient, with strong communication skills and the ability to analyse claims data in order to spot trends. Just as importantly, you’ll have good IT (Microsoft Office) skills, including Word, Excel and Outlook, together with the ability to quickly learn new in-house systems.
Our client is based a stone’s throw from Leeds railway station, close to the main public transport links and all the amenities the city centre has to offer. You will be welcome to work from home 1 day per week. In addition to a generous basic salary, you will receive a fantastic benefits package that includes a lucrative bonus and an impressive pension arrangement.
