Shipping Coordinator

Description Job Description: This role sits within the Supply Chain team based in Peterborough and will be a key player in planning, arranging and processing shipments to our global customer base. Responsibilities: – Arrange for shipments of products to be dispatched to customers based on available product – Working with carriers and customers to agree collection schedules – Send all relevant documentation for the shipments to the necessary contacts – Prepare, submit and record the export entry for goods sent overseas Service Excellence: Knowledge of customer service concepts and techniques; ability to meet or exceed customer needs and expectations and provide excellent service in a direct or indirect manner. Level Working Knowledge: – Provides a quality of service that customers describe as excellent. – Resolves common customer problems. – Responds to unexpected customer requests with a sense of urgency and positive action. – Provides direct service to internal & external customers. Import/Export: Knowledge of issues, procedures, tools and practices of importing and exporting; ability to import and export goods to and from international locations. Level Working Knowledge: – Completes all required export documentation for repetitive transactions. – Ensures all export entries remain compliant with HMRC and identifies and corrects any errors. Transportation: Knowledge of transportation; ability to transport materials and goods to manufacturing facilities and customers. Level Working Knowledge: – Participates in arranging transportation of goods. – Ensures on time shipments; anticipates and resolves shipping problems. – Works with at least one type of transportation mode and carrier.
