Are you an experienced procurement professional looking for a hands-on role with real impact? We’re seeking a Senior Buyer to lead supplier management and operational purchasing for a growing aerospace programme. This position focuses on strengthening supplier performance, improving delivery reliability, and supporting production across an international supply chain.
What You’ll Do
- Act as the main point of contact for a defined group of UK/European suppliers.
- Manage purchase orders, schedules, and changes driven by MRP requirements.
- Drive supplier performance to ensure stable delivery, quality, and responsiveness.
- Lead corrective actions, recovery plans, and issue resolution with suppliers.
- Conduct regular on-site supplier visits to build relationships and resolve challenges quickly.
- Support industrialisation activities, including First Article Inspection (FAI) through to serial production.
- Collaborate closely with cross-functional teams across procurement, engineering, quality, and operations.
What You’ll Bring
- 5+ years’ experience in procurement, supply chain, or commercial operations.
- Strong understanding of MRP/ERP-driven manufacturing environments.
- Demonstrated ability to manage and improve supplier performance.
- Confidence in challenging suppliers and driving corrective action.
- Experience working within a global supply chain and across time zones.
- Ability and willingness to travel frequently to supplier sites.
Nice to Have
- Experience within aerospace, defence, or other regulated manufacturing.
- MCIPS or an equivalent professional qualification.
- Ability to interpret engineering drawings and specifications.
- Strong negotiation and commercial skills.
