Working across workshops, classrooms and construction areas, you will support the smooth running of lessons within the Design & Technology and Arts Faculties. You’ll prepare, set up and maintain equipment, materials and resources, assist with demonstrations, and ensure everything is ready for safe and effective teaching. You’ll also clear and return equipment, keeping spaces organised and compliant with safety standards, while supporting students of all abilities across KS3 (DT and Art) and KS4 (Construction and GCSE Art). Maintaining the classrooms within the department, ensuring that they are fully equipped, tidy, safe and organised.
Key responsibilities include:
- Safe disposal of waste materials in accordance with established guidelines, including chemicals.
- Assisting with the ordering, delivering and appropriate storage of resources, including maintaining adequate stock levels and regular stock checks.
- Participating in the development of practical activities including constructing demonstration models, trialling practical work and providing feedback.
- Ensuring resources and equipment for specific lessons are prepared in a timely manner.
- Maintaining departmental inventory.
The role is 37 hours per week Term Time only. Salary band D (FTE Salary £26,334 - £26,472). Actual Salary range £22,896 - £23,010.
