Location: Hybrid working between the Aldgate, London office and home. Contract: Fixed contract until mid-September 2026, with potential of extension should further project funding be secured, and fulltime.

A great opportunity has arisen for a Policy and Public Affairs Officer - Air Quality to help us protect more people from the dangers of air pollution. You will be someone who can think creatively and produce new ideas for advocating for the change needed to improve air quality and lung health.

Asthma + Lung UK is the only charity in the UK fighting for everyone with a lung condition, aiming for a world where everyone can breathe with healthy lungs. We fund cutting-edge research, provide advice and support for the 12 million people who will get a lung condition during their lifetime. We also campaign for clean air and for better NHS diagnosis and treatment.

You will lead on implementing a public affairs strategy to persuade the government to commit to bolder targets on air quality, building on existing relationships with politicians and key stakeholders, and using a variety of public affairs methods to scrutinise government and influence legislative change.

You will have excellent working knowledge of routes for influencing UK government with a focus on Westminster and Whitehall. You will be an excellent communicator with the ability to present complex information in an accessible and persuasive way. You will also have experience influencing Government stakeholders and supporting the development and implementation of influencing strategies.

Responsibilities:

Qualifications:

Excellent working knowledge of routes for influencing UK government with a focus on Westminster and Whitehall. You will be an excellent communicator with the ability to present complex information in an accessible and persuasive way. You will also have experience influencing Government stakeholders and supporting the development and implementation of influencing strategies.
