A great opportunity has risen for a Neighbourhood Development Officer to join our Services Directorate.

It is a hybrid post, based in London, and will support our development and outreach work with the Bangladeshi communities.

Asthma + Lung UK is the only charity in the UK fighting for everyone with a lung condition, aiming for a world where everyone can breathe with healthy lungs.

We fund cutting-edge research, provide advice and support for the 12 million people who will get a lung condition during their lifetime.

We also campaign for clean air and for better NHS diagnosis and treatment.

  • You will lead the development and delivery of engagement programmes, educational initiatives, and training opportunities that increase awareness, build community capacity, and support the charity's strategic objectives.
  • You will help build trust, increase awareness of respiratory health, encourage early intervention, and connect people with the support and services they need.
  • You will have some experience working or volunteering community-based health or wellbeing settings.
  • You will have Bangladeshi (Bengali and/or Sylheti) as a first language, with good written and spoken English.
  • You will also be a strong communicator with excellent engagement and relationship-building skills.
