What you’ll be doing

You will be working as part of a team supporting all administration related to customer accounts. You will need great customer service skills and the ability to form professional working relationships with a wide range of customers, colleagues and agencies.

You will be organised, methodical and highly resourceful in your approach. Experience of dealing with challenging situations would be an asset as you will be in regular contact with customers by telephone, email, text message and letter.

You’ll support the wider housing teams across Devon & Cornwall as we are a multifunctional team who support each other when needed.

About you

You’ll be customer focussed and have a strong understanding of the importance of customer service, so being an effective communicator is essential as you will be able to explain things clearly on the phone or in writing. You will be busy, so great time management skills and the ability to manage competing priorities effectively are essential. The ability to adapt and be flexible will also help.

You’ll be confident using IT, specifically the Microsoft office suite and will be happy to follow processes as the customer accounts support is largely achieved by process driven results.

Having knowledge of customer accounts, housing benefits and universal credit would be advantageous but not essential, and if you have experience of working with payment software that would be great but don’t worry, we can teach you!

You’ll need a full UK driving licence and access to a vehicle for work purposes as you may need to travel to support the wider housing team. Our hub office is based in Plymouth.

A strong desire to work in the housing sector, enthusiasm, and a willingness to learn are all important attributes.

We\’ll be happy to agree a working pattern at the interview.
