The RD Advisory Lead, CRDOO leads global external activities that inform and strengthen Astellas’ development programs. This role partners closely with the RD Advisory Head and cross functional matrix teams to integrate high value scientific insights, strengthen collaboration with global experts, and support agile decision making across the R&D continuum.

The Opportunity
The RD Advisory Lead, CRDOO leads global external activities that inform and strengthen Astellas’ development programs. This role partners closely with the RD Advisory Head and cross functional matrix teams to integrate high value scientific insights, strengthen collaboration with global experts, and support agile decision making across the R&D continuum.
Responsibilities
- Lead global advisory strategy and expert engagement to inform early‑stage and pre‑launch development.
- Identify, evaluate, and build relationships with Key External Experts to address data gaps and challenge internal assumptions.
- Design and execute advisory boards, congress engagement plans, and digital KEE platforms.
- Provide scientific and medical insight to senior leadership to guide pipeline prioritization, trial design, and data interpretation.
- Drive cross‑regional and cross‑functional alignment on advisory activities and integration of external insights.
- Support strategic partnerships with academia, biotech, and industry to accelerate scientific innovation.
- Maintain deep therapeutic‑area knowledge and engage in peer‑to‑peer scientific exchange with global experts.
Essential Knowledge & Experience
- Experience in global or regional Medical Affairs, Clinical Development, or Medical Safety.
- Strong understanding of pharmaceutical regulations (IFPMA, PhRMA, FDA, EMA, PMDA, ACCME, OIG).
- Experience engaging external experts and communicating complex scientific information.
- Proven success leading cross regional, cross functional matrix teams and influencing without authority.
- Strong problem‑solving skills and ability to manage complex development challenges.
Education
- Medical Degree (MD), PhD, PharmD or equivalent.
Preferred Skills & Knowledge
- Clinical or research experience in Oncology, Ophthalmology, or Gene & Cell Therapy.
- Experience working across multiple cultures, countries, or regions.
Additional Information
- Type of role: This is a permanent role
- Location: UK
- This position follows our hybrid working model. Role requires a blend of home and minimum of 1 days per quarter in our Addlestone office. Flexibility may be required in line with business need. Candidates must be located within a commutable distance of the office.
