This hybrid role requires you to be onsite one day per quarter at our Addlestone office in the United Kingdom.
Purpose & Scope
The Public Affairs Community & Implementation Lead (CIL) drives the global cohesion, capability, and effectiveness of Astellas’ PA community. The role ensures consistent implementation of global PA strategies across therapeutic areas, geographies, and functions, fostering an internal community of practice that enhances knowledge sharing, stakeholder alignment, and impact measurement.
Role And Responsibilities
- Build and maintain the Global Public Affairs Community of Practice, managing channels, routines, and forums that connect global, regional, and affiliate teams.
- Develop engagement platforms (Teams channels, newsletters, internal campaigns) to increase visibility and alignment on priorities in collaboration with GPA team members.
- Support onboarding and professional development programs for public affairs colleagues globally.
- Provide operational support in developing toolkits, playbooks, and implementation guides for policy campaigns, stakeholder engagement, and issue management in collaboration with the GPA team.
- Ensure consistency in messaging, materials, and metrics across regions.
- Lead facilitation of annual or quarterly PA Community meetings and capability‑building sessions.
- Curate and maintain a central knowledge repository of public affairs case studies, best practices, and learning materials.
- Design and coordinate internal learning modules or leadership development content focused on strategic influence, policy engagement, and advocacy excellence in collaboration with subject‑matter experts.
- Provide operational support in implementation of the Astellas public affairs operating model.
Required Qualifications
- Experience in public or government affairs, communications, patient advocacy, or related fields; commercial excellence or corporate strategy experience considered.
- Strong understanding of the dynamics of the pharmaceutical business model in key markets worldwide.
- Proven ability to work collaboratively in cross‑functional teams.
- Demonstrated ability to successfully manage and deliver multiple projects within a matrix organization.
- Strong interpersonal, influencing, negotiation, and communication skills (written and verbal) to address all levels.
- Experience with agile ways of working would be beneficial.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience in the pharmaceutical/healthcare industry.
- Public affairs or strategic communications consultancy experience.
- Experience with national and/or state/regional healthcare industry associations.
- Government experience in legislative, parliamentary, or regulatory agencies.
- Strategic operations experience within a pharmaceutical company or consultancy environment.
