This is a local affiliate position and requires onsite presence two days per week at our Bourne office in London, UK. The role is offered on a hybrid basis. Candidates applying from outside of UK will be required to relocate to the UK.

The Commercial Co-Lead (CCL) is accountable for leading the development and execution of the local brand strategy and implementation of operational plans for the assigned Oncology product, ensuring alignment with overall business goals and market opportunities. Further responsible for the achievement of the revenue and profit targets, leading cross-functional teams, and collaborating closely with internal stakeholders on local as well as global level.
The CCL reports to the General Manager and is a member of the affiliate management team.
Role And Responsibilities
- Responsible for maximizing performance for the local assigned product in Oncology.
- Co-own the development and implementation of the Growth Strategy and annual plans for the assigned product in Oncology in close collaboration with Local Brand Team members and other stakeholders.
- Together with the core LBT responsible for developing brand objectives and aligning individual function KPIs for the LBT.
- Manage progress on KPIs and course-correct based on any assumption changes, underperformance, etc.
- Align with Global Brand Strategy planning in co-creation market by being a part of Global Brand Strategy planning.
- Co-ordinate knowledge and understanding of the local market(s) to drive sustainable, profitable growth, enhancing operational efficiency and advancing Astellas’ commercial goals.
- Responsible for building agile Local Oncology Team culture by embedding the five Behavioural Principles: 1) Outcome Focused, 2) Enterprise Thinking, 3) Act with Urgency, 4) Pursue Bold Ideas, 5) People-Led Change.
- Creating a psychological safe environment to enable a strong feedback culture and where Team members are challenging each other to maximize VALUE for patients.
- Making agile, fast, and clear decisions with the sense of urgency. If necessary and depending on the topic, escalated to local MT or Global Brand Team.
- Breaking down silos to solve problems together as a team.
- Responsible for managing Local Oncology (assigned product) Team budget and accountable for the local Brand P&L.
- Propose and oversee budget and resource allocation for the assigned Oncology product.
- Together with Medical Co-Lead, execute on approved budget and resource allocation. If appropriate, decide on budget allocation changes (within guardrails).
- As CCL accountable for local Brand P/L.
- Responsible for Local assigned Oncology product Team performance.
- Role-model the transversal, co-creative and collaborative working model, sharing best practice across the business, to sustainably grow the team’s effectiveness.
- Responsible for performance evaluation on core Brand Team members, in cooperation with Functional Report-line Managers.
- Create the environment to provide frequent feedback within Brand Team members.
Key Competencies
- Extensive experience in Brand Management in the pharmaceutical sector, preferable with P&L Management and Forecasting experience.
- Strategic and analytical mindset, with experience in developing marketing strategies.
- Experience in leading without authority or in a matrix environment is of advantage.
- Strong customer and patient orientation.
- High level of independence and resilience.
- Fluent English skills, both spoken and written.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Marketing, Business, or equivalent.
Preferred Experience
- MBA is a plus.
- Oncology Experience: Extensive experience in Oncology Business, with a proven track record of successful product launches and lifecycle management.
- Project Management Skills: Proven ability to lead cross-functional teams, manage multiple projects, and ensure alignment between departments such as medical, regulatory, and market access.
